I am working in high energy physics which deals from the fundamental particles, quarks and leptons, and the interaction forces between them.
My focus lays there on the R&D of gaseous detectors. Since I started my diploma thesis in 2000 I am working with Gas Electron Multipliers (GEMs) as a readout technology for Time Projection Chambers (TPCs). Nowadays, I am going to collect also some experience in using MicroMegas (MM) for the same purpose.
Part of my PhD thesis was also an analysis of beauty quark production in ep reactions at the H1 experiment at DESY. I looked in the DIS channel with a muon and at least a jet in the final state.

A short introduction to my current projects can be found on the side menu, as well as a list of my talks and publications.
